Getting to Know: Raisi K.

Get to know Black Ice's "Raisi K." on a whole another level. See what he has to say:

1)      You are from?
A: “I’m from Albany, NY. Got Love in Akron, OH and C-Bus OH Too

2)      When and why and did you start producing?
A: “I started producing just this July. I was very curious and wanted to try it out. Now I'm hooked, haha

3)      What do you think about hip-hop and where it’s going?
A: “Hip hop is being put in the backburner, too many people working to get an easy buck in hip-hop. We need the soul and the grittiness, we need the roots back!

4)      Who are your 3 favorite hip-hop artists?
A: “Styles P., Fabolous, Jadakiss, and Lloyd Banks (sorry 4). They rap like they are still rookies who are hungry, I like that.

5)      Who would you say are the best 3 artist out right now?
A: “Styles P., Fabolous, and hmmm…. Banks

6)      Who inspires or inspired your rapping?
A: “Major (Mr. Capers) inspired me in actually making beats, but before that, The Alchemist, my fave producer.

7)      Pick one word that describes your style?
A: “Sampleholic: Give me a sample. I will kill it and eat it for fun.

8)      What makes Black Ice unique? And what is your goal in the group?
A: “Black Ice manages to assemble a group of fellas with immense talent and all different music styles and make it harmonious to embody the roots and the true message of hip-hop. So honored to be part of the Black Ice Campaign.

9)      Why did you pick the stage name you have, and what does it symbolize?
A: “‘Raisi K. is in honor of my Great-Grandpa Mr. Kongoli, and gotta credit a couple chicas from school for making the nickname. Raisin Man’ is a nickname that has stuck since the longest so that's in there. You can call me Pepper-Homie as well, in honor of my good friend Bryce Crawford aka Coach B. I See You Bro Haha!

10)  Who is Raisi K.?
A: “Who is Raisi K? I'm Congo's Finest, lol. But seriously I'm a pretty cool guy, not gonna lie.

11)  If you had one thing to say to listeners, what would you say?
A: “To my listeners out there, I make beats to trigger emotion, to get parties started, to make you laugh, cry, get angry, surprised, humorous. I do this to make the 2 minutes of time you've invested in listening worth it. For my time invested in this is golden in my eyes.

Raisi K. (Raisin Man), is one of the newest members to Black Ice Entertainment. He has recently entered the hip-hop scene by picking up the art of beat making. Getting to Know: Language Arts

Get to know Black Ice's "Language Arts" on a whole another level. See what he has to say:

1)      You are from?
A: “Brooklyn, NY.

2)      When and why and did you start rapping?
A: “I started rapping because it was an acceptable way to carry conversations with paper lol. I was a quiet kid.”

3)      What do you think about hip-hop and where it’s going?
A: “I think Hip-Hop is transforming into a quasi-multi-genre. In a few years, hip-hop will have no roots to it. It'll be hip-hop because one said it is.”

4)      Who are your 3 favorite hip-hop artists?
A: “Common, Andre 3000 and Blu.

5)      Who would you say are the best 3 artist out right now?
A: “Common, Andre 3000 and Blu.

6)      Who inspires or inspired your rapping?
A: “Mother probably. My style comes from her enforcing the importance of acquiring knowledge at a young age. Otherwise, I’d probably wouldn't take the time to write at all.

7)      Pick one word that describes your style?
A: “I'm told Soulful, but I'd say Honest, lol.

8)      What makes Black Ice unique? And what is your goal in the group?
A: “Black Ice is unique because it's rather random. It was a video company before it was a Hip-Hop group- also, a bunch of artists who aren't really similar in any way other than the fact that they write music. None of the artists sound alike. My goal is to make Black Ice a label or production group like Jay's Rocafella.

9)      Why did you pick the stage name you have, and what does it symbolize?
A: “Language Arts was my worst subject in middle school when I loathed writing. When I met Black Ice in college, all I did was write. I even took up English with a concentration in writing. I became Language Arts, essentially.

10)  Who is Language Arts?
A: “Language Arts is a very opinionated idea that anything can be said in any way at anytime and must be accepted by default. Language Arts is the idea of sharing an un-bias opinion at all times because it must be shared.

11)  If you had one thing to say to listeners, what would you say?
A: “B You Self! It's the best thing for all of us.

Language Arts is one of the co-founders of Black Ice Entertainment and is also the co-founder of The New Aristocrats (Formerly known as The News). His first mixtape, "The A ep," debuted in September. He is currently working on a new mixtape titled, "b you self." Take a listen to "Right," the newest track from Language Art's upcoming mixtape:
